The Dressel Railway Lamp & Signal Company was incorporated in 1922 with a new plant at Arlington NJ. It was formerly known as Dressel Railway Lamp Works, New York City and was originally established in 1882. Dressel Patent No. 2157081 was a patent that was applied for in 1936 and granted in 1939 that patented the unique system Dressel used to hold the sprung globe retainer in position. As soon as this patent was granted in 1939, Dressel stamped the patent onto the bottom of its lanterns. However at some point in the future it stopped stamping the patent. Dressel lanterns with the patent stamp were made after May, 1939. Some sources indicate that Dressel may have stopped stamping the patent date after 1940.
I am an antique junkie. I do a lot of traveling attending local auctions and estate sales, and while I try to give as best description as possible when listing items, bear in mind I am not an expert. That what you see is how it is presented to me. I do not go out of my way to clean up the items; I leave that up to you.
I do no accept returns unless something is grossly misrepresented, so please view all pictures and ask questions. I will work with you to obtain a mutually agreeable resolution should something like that occur. I ship worldwide and combine shipping as well. I will ship the same day of purchase if paid before 3:00 PM EST.
Positive feedback will be given the same day of purchase. I certainly appreciate your business and keep me in mind for future treasures. All delicate items will be bubblewrapped and insured for your protection. If you have any questions, please contact me.
