     Murder at Midnight by Avi is a historical mystery novel, a prequel to Midnight Magic, set in Renaissance Italy where magician Mangus and his servant boy Fabrizio must clear Mangus’s name after he’s framed for treason by a plot to overthrow the king. The story follows the unlikely duo as they race to solve the mystery of who is behind the plot and a murder, using the new technology of the printing press to their advantage before they are executed at midnight.
