John Carradine Classic DVD Movies

     This is 2 movies on one DVD. They are in black and white from 1943 & 1944. One is a drama called Monsoon. The other is a horror/thriller called Bluebeard. They both star John Carradine. The DVD has some minor surface scratches that do not affect the play of the DVD.

     Monsoon: In a South Seas bar and brothel called the Isle of Forgotten Sins, rough and tumble sailors Mike Clancy (John Carradine) and Jack Burke (Frank Fenton) meet old Capt. Krogan (Sidney Toler), who talks them into recovering 3 million dollars in gold from a sunken ship. Mike and Clancy become rivals for the bar’s lovely owner, Marge as well as for the riches.

     Bluebeard: When seamstress Lucille (Jean Parker) accepts a job designing costumes for charismatic puppeteer and portrait artist Gaston Morrell (John Carradine), she has no idea that he is, in fact, Bluebeard, the infamous serial killer who has been terrorizing Paris. Sparks soon fly between Lucille and Morrell but complications arise when Morell’s previous lover Renee (Sonia Sorel) becomes jealous and must be dealt with according to Morell’s grisly custom.
